About this Death Cafe

We are so fortunate to have found an owner of a new local café who is donating the use of his space for our two hour event.  This gives us less to do in preparation of the event, and a smaller venue. If people are enthusiastic we will investigate hosting Death Cafes more often, particularly if we are not madly baking and buying coffee supplies the day before!  It continues to run at no cost, and we do ask attendees to support the generosity of our local business owner by purchasing refreshments. The restaurant will be hosting us as a private event. In order to keep track of numbers we will be using Eventbrite to have people register for the tickets which are free of charge.

Apparently the map on this page indicates the incorrect location of the cafe. The Glacier Valley Bistro is near Best Buy on Cliffe, beside the Chatters store in the strip mall parallel to Cliffe. 

About Anne and Linda

Anne and Linda have enjoyed volunteering and having a career in palliative care respectively. We have participated in Death Cafes here on Vancouver Island and are enthusiastic about the positive outcomes of open comfortable discussion about Death And Dying.  Participants have talked about how surprised they were at how the conversation flowed and they felt very much at home, and ask when the next one will happen. We are now trying a new location in alignment with our evaluation forms, and on a different day.
