About this Death Cafe
Over a cup of tea or coffee, with a delicious muffin, come along and meet others who wish to have a conversation about death and dying - in a safe, supported environment. Death will come to us all, yet how many people struggle to talk about it or to share their experiences around death and dying? How many people find that if they do wish to talk about death, they are dismissed as being weird or morbid? As an attendee of my first Death Cafe, I was impressed when the host said: "The biggest challenge to such conversations is the space and time allowed to share our stories of death and dying, be they sad or joyful, grief-laden or a treasure to remember." I decided then that I wanted to host a Death Cafe, this will be my second, the first was a month ago, well attended and stimulated some interesting discussion.
Numbers are limited to 15, so booking is necessary. Suggested donation of $10 to cover cost of refreshments and use of the space.
