About this Death Cafe
For those new to Death Cafe, please read over the description on this site, or on our Facebook page (link provided below). Remember that Death Cafe is a free-form conversation about Death, whatever that means to the people in the room. It is not a grief support group, it is no an educational meeting. Nothing will be sold, taught, or recruited for. We're simply going to sit down together, have some snacks, and talk about Death for a couple of hours.
Please plan to arrive on time. You may even want to leave a little extra time to make sure you find parking.
Jump-Start is a store-front theater space located in a long, low, green buliding fronting on Fredericksburg Road at the corner of Fred and Ashby. The main entrance is from Fred, and there is signage on the door and in the window. Street parking is available throughout the neighborhood. Please do observe the no parking signs, where applicable!
As always, Death Cafe is free and open to the public. And refreshments are provided!
About Jump-Start Performance Co.
Jump-Start is a progressive performance ensemble creating original work and giving voices to the voiceless in San Antonio for more than 30 years.
The January meeting will be facilitated by Laurie Dietrich, a theatre artist, ritualist and deathworker who makes work about, and educates people about, death as a part of life.
She believes that, not only will talking about it not kill you, talking about Death will in fact help you live a fuller, juicier, more joyful life.
