About this Death Cafe
After companioning my own mother on her dying journey, I saw how beautiful dying can be when fear is removed and there is safe space to talk about death and dying. My mother was a very spiritual person who taught me as a very young child that death is part of life, and nothing to fear. It was always a safe space to explore or question, and I am passionate about creating a similar space for others to talk about death and dying as well. I am hoping that our Death Cafe movement will help to shift our Death Denying or Death Phobic society to a more accepting and supportive one.
This event will be run in my home, and coffee, tea, water and treats will be served. The event is free of charge, I only ask for an RSVP as space is limited.

Merri-Lee is a Reiki Master, End of Life Doula and Bereavement Specialst who is heavily involved in Hospice Volunteer work and has a passion for helping people to die well.
