About this Death Cafe

This Death Cafe, hosted by Edinburgh Printmakers and EH1 Therapies is a drop-in afternoon event in which attendees can participate in discussions about death and enjoy tea, coffee and delicious baked goods.

Endearingly co-titled Dying for a Cuppa, this event afternoon of open, frank and respectful conversation reflecting on the nature of our own transience as human beings.

This is a warm, friendly gathering themed around human finitude. We are inviting people to talk and recognise their feelings about death and dying; we will enable and support that discussion whilst supplying scrumptious cakes and mugs of hot drinks. This is a space in which people are free to talk, listen and experience without external direction.

Enter at any time, and there is no pressure to stay. Attendees will be encouraged to move around tables and to enjoy discussion with friends old and new. Talk about your own experiences, draw from the conversation cards, or discuss the artwork from Edinburgh Printmakers’ exhibition Time Is All Around.
