About Carissa and Lizzy

Hi there! My name is Carissa and I am 29 years old. This will be my first time ever, hosting a Death Cafe, and I am truly looking forward to it.

The older I get the faster, it seems, time flies. I was given a second chance at a happy healthy life, and I try every day to not take that for granted. And isn't that the point? To live every day to its fullest?

This is the reason I was so drawn to Columbus Death Cafe. While we discuss death, what we really are talking about, is life. Everyone that attends, has a story, or an experience to share about life and death. I am so excited to facilitate and be a part of a group that fosters this, while in other places, the subject may be taboo.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you!

Lizzy Miles will be co-hosting along with Carissa.  Lizzy is a hospice social worker and advocate for more communication about end of life. Lizzy hosted the first Death Cafe in the United States right here in Columbus.  This will be the 15th event in Columbus.
