About this Death Cafe

Our sessions are always fuelled by Tea, coffee and cake.  We offer a very warm welcome to each and every person that comes through our door and this day will be no different. Our lovely team are on hand to sit with you and answer ANY questions you feel you need the answers to.

Our fantastic boss Gail is a soul midwife and can offer advice on all aspects of death and dying.  We are here to sit and listen and advise in any way you need.

About Jo Pilling and Gail Willington

We are an experianced team of Funeral Directors who are very passionate about out reach work within the community.  We have a big involvement the the Alzheimer's society as we regularly hold Dementia Friends sessions, we have a beautiful child care pathway and we host a funeral school as we are trying to lift the lid on the secrecy and fear that death and our profession generates.  We are seeing that funeral services are becoming more of a celebration of life and that if we can talk freely about death and the options we have, it doesn't need to be so daunting and frightening.  We have an open door policy anyway and will happily talk to anyone at anytime about death and dying, but we feel that a Death Cafe would benefit the community massively.
