About this Death Cafe
*Vancouver Death Cafe*!
This is the first of hopefully many Death Cafes to come. Hosted online via Zoom to improve accessibility, and capping it at 75 minutes for this inaugural effort, this Cafe is designed for both those curious-and-unsure and experienced-and-certain.
This is a safer space where all co-cafe'ers are treated as equal.
The door will close 15 minutes into the hour to keep the container more stable for the conversation, and anyone can of course leave anytime they choose.
Participation will be capped at 10 individuals to keep the conversation close.
About Emily M
Emily is a freelance mortality enquirer. In her 30s now, she's encountered death through close relatives and familiars from the age of 3, including both of her parents. She's tenderly interested in bringing mortality conversation to the mix of social discourse, so that this often-avoided topic might lose some of its taboo and pall, and gain back some of its life-affirming elements.
