About this Death Cafe
At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death.
The goal is to enhance our awareness and acceptance of death in our community.
A Death Cafe is a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session
About Dee from SOMA
I grew up on a farm in the Mid West of Western Australia, I was a colourful child which led me to seek answers.
I have studied and incorporate Reiki (Masters), Aromatherapy, Sound Healing, Shiatsu, Herbalism, and Holistic Massage into my life.
I combine these studies with life experiences (current and past), Trancework & Channelling to assist myself and others
I completed Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training with the Kundalini Research Institute in 2018. This study cemented the knowledge that our physical bodies can allow us to move through emotional & spiritual blocks
In 2022 I completed Yoga for Trauma Teacher training. This was in addition to Complex Trauma Teacher training that I was lucky to attend in 2021. In 2023 I will be busy finishing Trauma Informed Processwork certification.
I am active in death and dying within our community.
Having had experience in funeral homes, and hospice boards I am keen for westerners to expand our understanding and experience of death.
I run Death Cafes and actively contribute to an international voluntary euthanasia group.
