Somebody's Child

After my son died, I looked at the memorials around our town, Alice Springs, in a different way.

I also thought in a different way about the people I knew who’d lost children. I felt sadder for the life lost. I worried for the families of that person and wondered how they were coping. The journey of grief and loss is a tough one especially in the early years. It is exhausting, perilous and there are days when it’s hard to just get out of bed. But in the space of grief, one can also see fleeting points of beauty and make friendships stronger ....
