Hi! I have become passionate for talking about death and de-stigmatizing the conversations. I recently moved from San Diego, CA, where I attended my first Death Cafe. Since I became a host I've had the opportunity to meet some great folks who always enlighten me and look forward every month to meeting and discussing topics of death and dying and living.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
I actually went to my first Death Cafe to support a reluctant friend. I was instantly hooked! The non-judgmental forum and free flow of ideas and opinions has been uplifting in so many ways. Nothing somber here!
What would you like your legacy to be?
I want my legacy to be that of love. Love of friends, strangers, family. When people think of me I want them to recall how I loved them, and encouraged them to love as well.
Thoughts for sharing:
I am far from "wise". I have learned a lot about loss, but I am also learning that death has so much more to teach me. It's going to happen to all of us, and why not encourage what has always been referred to as a "tough" conversation about death to become the norm, something almost to look forward to, an integral part of life? As a host for more than a year, my new motto has become "We all do it, so let's talk about it!"
