Defying Death
Each day the sun will rise
And the sun will set
And each of us will be met
By death,
A morbid thought, perhaps,
But the fear of death often traps
And we can mislay our maps,
Never fully realising our potential,
Defying death and matters existential,
The expansion of fear is exponential.
To be in the present moment living
Is a challenge if we are giving
Energy to future fears and past misgivings.
Recognising this life is finite
A lust for life can ignite
Living a life of love over fear,
A birthright.
