What brings you to Death Cafe?

I have always been fascinated with death and at the same time terrified by it.  More the state of non-existence in the physical world than the actual process of dying. So, I come here looking for coversation to help ease my worries and so far it has been the perfect remedy to my anxiety.

What would you like your legacy to be?

That I helped create sustainability in the food delivery business by using electric bikes and that I brought a better sense of community to Lansing.

Thoughts for sharing:

"Death is our gretaest challenge as well as our greatest spiritual opportunity. By cultivating mindfulness, we can prepare ourselves forthis final passage by allowing nature, rather than the ego, to guide us." -Ram Dass

"In our Western culture, although death has come out of the closet, it is still not openly experienced or discussed. Allowing dying to be so intensely present enriches both the preciousness of the moment and our detachment from it." -Ram Dass

"(Death) is taking off a tight shoe that you've worn well." -Ram Dass
