I'm chairman for Youth For Christ in Westlock Alberta.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
There is a need in our community for this kind of organization,both with adults and youth.
Everyone faces death at one time or another and often need a safe place for support and encouragement.
I read an artical of yours at our local church and have addopted your model. We have a facility and personel to support this venture.
What would you like your legacy to be?
To be remembered as someone who truly cared for others and did something about it.
Thoughts for sharing:
We as Christians believe that death for us is a step out of a life that often has a lot of trial and suffering along with great joy and victories, but Heaven offers peace, joy, love and a face to face relationship with our God.
That being said. The Death Cafe is not viewed as an evangelistic tool but as an oppertunity to help ease the suffering and loss the we all face when death knocks on the door of our lives. We all need a listening ear and a safe place to express the very troubling emotions that grief brings.
