Death Cafe profile for Julie Barnes

About Julie Barnes:

I work as a counsellor and facilitator in Nottingham, often working with loss, bereavement and change.  At the core of everything I do is an appreciation of what gives us life and that includes facing death.

What brings you to Death Cafe?

I think that the more we can speak about and face the prospect of death, the more we can live fully and whole-heartedly. I'd like to create that opportunity here and love the Death Cafe model.

Thoughts for sharing:

Man, there’s nothing like being told you’re dying to make you feel alive.  Wilko Johnson, Musician, diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2012.
