About Sharran Mullins:

I am an Assistant Professor at Brandon University, Brandon, MB in the Department of Psychiatric Nursing, Faculty of Health Studies.  I teach a class called Introduction to Palliative Care.  I believe the ability to communicate effectively and opently is a necessary skill for every psychiatric nurse.  Learning about caring for dying people cannot happen without learning how to communicate about death and dying.  My goal is to help my students develop greater comfort discussing death and dying and to help others initiate these often difficult conversations.

What brings you to Death Cafe?

I love the idea of a forum that allows people to talk openly and freely about death - a topic that is still so often thought of as "taboo."

What would you like your legacy to be?

I would like my legacy to be that of a person who loved well, laughed much, read alot, and loved learning.  And pugs.  I love pugs! (Don't judge me!)

Thoughts for sharing:

If heaven and hell decide that they both are satisfied, illuminate the "no's" on their vacancies signs, if there's no one beside you when your sould embarks, I'll follow you into the dark. - Death Cab for Cutie
