About Jamie Renz:

I have always had a million questions about death, but around where I am from, it's something many don't talk about. My fiance lost his mom a couple years ago and I found Ask a Mortition on YouTube and she opened the door for death positive talk. I want to open this door for others in my community and let them know there is a safe, judgement-free place to go to have this kind of discussion. No gimmicks, no looking down on anyone's thoughts.

What brings you to Death Cafe?

I love the idea of people coming together to chat openly about death positivity. Plus, who can pass up cake?

What would you like your legacy to be?

I want my legacy to be that I opened the door to positive death communication between people. I want people to come together and bond over death conversations and cake.

Thoughts for sharing:

I wish the stigma surrounding death would be lifted. Death shouldn't be something to sweep under the rug or be afraid of.

I am hosting this event because I know there are many people who are too afraid to have a conversation about death and are afraid to talk openly and honestly ...
