‘Death never takes the wise man by surprise, he is always ready to go.’ ~Jean de La Fontaine

What brings you to Death Cafe?

The unique format of the DC creates a supportive, safe, positive space for people to gather and share stories of life, death, and everything in between. We can live life to the full by desaturating the fear associated with death by embracing the conversation.

'As a well spent day brings happy sleep, so life well used brings happy death.' ~Leonardo da Vinci

What would you like your legacy to be?

I would love to leave a legacy of living life passionately, sharing my gifts of healing, beauty, warmth and positivity with all those I encounter. It's an honour to be involved with the Jozi Death Cafe.

'Death is not the opposite of life, but a part of it.' Haruki Murakami

‘Neither fire nor wind, birth nor death can erase our good deeds.’ ~Buddha

Thoughts for sharing:

The pain I experienced with the death of my loved ones has created a deep capacity for peace and faith in the support I have, both seen and unseen.  Their lives burned bright and taught me how precious each moment is, and how fully I should embrace my life.

‘Whatever you want to do, do it now. There are only so many tomorrows.’ ~Michael Landon

‘There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love.’ ~Washington Irving

'For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one.' ~Khalil Gibran

'The life of the dead is placed in the memory of the living.' ~Marcus Tullius Cicero
