About Jason:

Hello, my name is Jason. I am a Family Service Counselor for a Dignty Memorial funeral and cemetery provider. I have helped many families prepare for and cope with the loss of a loved one.

I have seen many ways of how people handle death and have witnessed many practices and rituals associated with death.

I have personally lost close family and friends. I am currently handling the affairs for my father who is approaching the end stages of his life. Death is not a scary thing when you have an understanding of it.

What brings you to Death Cafe?

I am looking to bring the taboo discussion of death to a comfortable conversation that everyone needs to have to understand the emotional impacts, financial impacts, religious impacts, etc that the passing of a loved one has on people.

"We all die. The goal isn’t to live forever; the goal is to create something that will." - Chuck Palahniuk

"Birth and death are the most singular events we experience – and the contemplation of death, as of birth, should be a thing of beauty, not ignobility." - Jacob K. Javits
