About Kel McBride

Hi, I'm Kel McBride, The Lively Death Lady (co-founder of the Before I Die Festival in Louisville and founder of Before I Die Festival Bloomington). I provide death and dying education for younger, (35-65) healthy people. Mainly women, who feel they have decades of life left. Women who know the value of a plan – and they know about the proverbial bus.

You see, death comes for us all. One in four, before we even reach 65.  Death isn’t something we can “wait till later” to plan for. As you scroll down here, you will learn I was a sexuality educator. We all hope that people plan for sex – to reduce the risk of unwanted pregnancies and infections. We want people to be prepared BEFORE they have sex. This is oddly similar. By having a well thought out plan before you die people won’t have to wonder “What would she have wanted?” but instead can think about “What did she mean to me?”

Not only that, surprisingly, many of my clients grow to find comfort in the fact that they will die. They spark a passion to live a more full life, knowing that time is limited. Each day means more when you know they are limited.  People who have worked with me are surprised how enjoyable the experience was. Talking about death before we have to lets us have some fun, share wild examples, and well, be a little irreverent.

I love to help people find options that connect with their values and morals, to provide people with options they didn’t even know were available. Let me help you clarify your hopes and needs to craft a tool. You can clearly explain your end of life plans for those who will care for the details.

PS Watch out for the bus!
