About this Death Cafe

Wildflower Ceremonies celebrant Ellie Brooks was inspired to run a Death Cafe at the Cargo Lounge in Broadstone after attending one during her celebrant training in Glastonbury.

Ellie says: "Death is the one thing that will happen to all of us, yet for so many people, particularly in Western culture, death is a taboo subject. So much so, that when people around us die, or the reality of our own mortality is brought home to us, there are few places we can turn to to help us familiarise ourselves with how we feel about it." 

She goes on to say: "This is where Death Cafe can be a huge support. While we don't provide grief counselling, many people who visit Death Cafes find comfort in exploring the subject of death in a friendly, relaxed environment with like-minded people. It can actually be very comforting."

Wildflower Ceremonies is extremely grateful to Cargo Lounge for allowing us to gather in such a warm, welcoming space, it makes all the difference, so thank you, thank you, thank you!

The first ever DEATH CAFE BROADSTONE will take place on Tuesday 9th April 2019 at 7.30pm. 

Celebrant Ellie Brooks of Wildflower Ceremonies will be hosting the first Death Cafe to ever take place in Broadstone, Dorset, at the Cargo Lounge Cafe Bistro. 

Join us for an informal, friendly discussion about the one thing we all have in common - death. 

Entry is free, and a delicious selection of cakes and beverages will be available to buy from Cargo Lounge throughout the evening.
