About this Death Cafe

Combe Grove is a beautiful and peaceful retreat haven 3 miles outside Bath kindly hosting the Death Cafe in The Orangery room. Places are limited to 12 spaces to help encourage informality and conversation. Booking essential.

It's a privilege to offer a safe, informal space in which to talk about death and dying; a subject many of us find awkward and difficult. Come and join us to share experiences, listen and learn while enjoying cake and tea.

About Neeta Madahar and Celia Spiers

Neeta Madahar is a visual artist, and yoga and meditation teacher. She trained as a Soul Midwife last Autumn. The interconnectedness of life and death and how to lead a happy, fulfilling life underpin her various roles. Vigiling at her dying mother-in-law's bedside in May 2018 was a profound experience, inspiring Neeta to offer a Death Cafe in her community.

Celia Spiers’ life struggles with difficult, challenging times have meant facing death and its place in living. People close to Celia found it almost impossible to talk to her about this. She was delighted to discover her first Death Café – a safe, gentle and comfortable space.
