About Newton Cemetery & Living Wisely, Dying Well
Newton Cemetery is an active cemetery and accredited arboretum serving the needs of all faiths for Newton and beyond. The Cemetery was founded in 1855 during the rural garden cemetery movement that began with Mount Auburn Cemetery. The historic grounds are open to the public 365 days a year.
The Friends of Newton Cemetery is a charitable, non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining the cultural, historical and natural aspects of the Cemetery. The Friends supports public programs and events such as Death Cafes, Cemetery preservation, and care of the Arboretum, ensuring Newton Cemetery will remain a treasure for eternity.
Living Wisely, Dying Well is a Newton-based initiative with the mission to change how people approach and communicate their values, goals and preferences for end of life care, should they not be able to speak for themselves due to serious illness or trauma.
Arza Goldstein-- co-founder of Living Wisely, Dying Well. Hospice RN, The Conversation Project workshop facilitator and Death Cafe host.
