About Barbara Sarah, MSW

The host and facilitator for the Death Cafe of Norther Westchester is Barbara Sarah, an oncology social worker, community activist and mentor who has helped organize more than 60 Death Cafes across the country.

Ms Sarah was awarded a Life-time Achievement Award by the New York State Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers and the New York State Governor's Award for Innovations in Breast Cancer Education.

She is also a co-founder of a nonprofit organization called Circle of Friends for the Dying. Circle of Friends is creating a comfort care home to provide compassionate end-of-life care in a home-like setting, for people who live alone. Circle of Friends provides an alternative to dying in a nursing home or hospital.
