About this Death Cafe

The first Death Cafe in Pittsburgh! We'll meet at Constellation Coffee; guests will be responsible for purchasing their own beverages and treats. Meeting space and promotional assistance is being generously provided by Constellation Coffee. We're looking forward to gathering in a welcoming community space to talk about death. No agenda, all ideas welcome.

About Rachel Butler

Rachel is passionate about bringing death awareness to the PGH community. She spends her days conducting end-of-life research and volunteering for both hospice and bereavement support. She is interested in how other cultures and communities engage with death, and how death awareness can positively impact quality of life. When she isn't working or volunteering, Rachel loves to read, garden, cook, go hiking with her dog, and spend time with her family and friends. On the most basic level, Rachel loves to gather people together to bond over good food and shared experiences.
