About this Death Cafe

Our Death Cafe is an opportunity to reflect on our mortality in the face of serving those affected by cancer, some of whom will die from their disease. It is an open discussion as a form of self-care.  Hopefully it will inspire us to live more mindfully and in the moment.

About Susan "Susie" O'Shaughnessy

Susie O'Shaughnessy is a Chaplain at an outpatient Cancer Institute with 20 years of experience in Chaplaincy at a Medical Center. Over the course of her career, she has served at the bedside of many who have died. The staff she supports deal with death on a nearly daily basis in serving the patients in their care. Our hope is to provide a safe space to talk about death as it impacts our professional and personal lives and how death inspires us to live in the moment! Because of the confidential nature of serving a patient population, our group is private.
