About this Death Cafe
We will gather, drink tea, eat cake and talk openly about death and dying. No agenda & no objectives. A space to talk and to think about living well until we die.
Pick up a cuppa and snack of your choice from the MAC’s café then come join us. Entry to the Death Cafe itself is is free.
You may also be interested in seeing ‘Dead Good’ a show by Vamos Company also on at MAC later the same evening which is a funny and poignant theatre show celebrating friendship – and the importance of living every precious day to the full. Bubbling with humour and awash with pathos, this beautifully crafted production is performed entirely without words, tickets https://macbirmingham.co.uk/event/vamos-theatre-dead-good
About Anna Lock & Ali Cox
Anna & Ali are directors of BrumYODO a Community Interest Company made up of growing group of artists, undertakers, food artists, hospices, palliative care professionals and generally all-round interesting folk.
We believe that there is such a thing as a good death – but it will only happen if we, the people demand it. We will only demand it if we understand what we need to demand, and we will only understand it if we talk about it.
Our Vision is a society which talks openly and honestly about death
We believe talking openly about death helps us prepare for dying and loss. We design and create safe spaces for conversations through collaboration, and deliver life-enhancing public events.
