About this Death Cafe

A Death Cafe is a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives, or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief-support or counseling session.

Death Cafes are special gatherings to promote genuine conversations about death. They strive to heighten awareness, as well as to help people make the most of their (finite) lives. Started in London, since 2011 Death Cafes have taken place in over 70 countries. Now you can join a Death Cafe hosted in Monterey County.

Death Cafes open space for conversations about dying. Discussions cover the gamut, but the topics come from the participants’ interests. Some people talk about losing loved ones or fear of dying, while others may reflect on the ethics of euthanasia, beliefs about life after death, their hoped-for legacy, or how they wish to be remembered.

We invite you to come together with others to share your stories and feelings, to listen, to accept and know you are not alone.

Virtual Death Cafe on Zoom.

Registration in advance is required.
