About Lorena Alvarez Ruiz and Raisa Reyes

Lorena Alvarez Ruiz is a psychology major and hospice volunteer. She is also the host of the Conversations on Death podcast, a podcast exploring topics around death, dying, and the afterlife. Her goal is to make death less taboo by bringing forward the many lessons death has to teach the living, so that we can all live more intentional and purposeful lives.

Raisa Reyes is a Hospice Aide and Palliative Care Doula. During her years in hospice she has seen how being a death-denying society creates bounderies of optimal care and how the health care system sees death as a failure rather than a part of life to be fully embraced. She aims to normalize the conversation surrounding death in order to be able to live life to the fullest.
