About this Death Cafe
This cafe takes an alternative structure: drop in any time between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 and join or begin a discussion with our facilitators and whoever else is present. General information about Death Cafes follows:
Join a Death Cafe where people gather to discuss death with no particular agenda other than sharing and awareness
At a Death Cafe people gather to eat dessert, drink tea and discuss death. A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session. And the goal is helping to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives. Death Cafes are an international movement founded by Jon Underwood in 2011, based on the work of Bernard Cretaz and you can learn more at deathcafe.com.
