There were quite a few deaths the past month and the group decided it was important to return to a discussion about pre-arrangments. Maggie brought in copies of the Illinois State Living Will - a simple one page document that informs health care professionals about wishes such as a DNR (do not resuscitate). A more specific form from the Illinois Department of Public Health was passed around that gets more involved with a terminal state (i.e. no food, water, or life sustaining attempts).
Participants took time to fill out the living will and passed to other members to witness.
The next meeting was set for June 18th as indicated on the "post a death cafe". We are hoping for more members to show up and for our new members to return.
