Death Cafe Calgary Jun 14, 2015

Death Café Calgary was held at Self Connection Books on June 14, 2015. Fortunately, the cupcakes and twenty-five guests made it into the venue without getting too rain-soaked. For many attendees, it was their first Death Café, and they were eager to talk about the death-related subjects on their minds. Discussion groups ranged from 3 to 7 people in both 40-minute conversation rounds. Time flew by with some guests exchanging contact information to continue their discussions. On the evaluations, it was great to see words describing the event such as: supportive, respectful, enlightening, energizing, welcoming, and community. Over 120 people have attended the four Calgary Death Café events from September 2014 to June 2015, with many having participated in more than one. The next public Death Café event for the Calgary community will be held in September 2015—watch for a posting sometime in August.
