About Jen Cole:

I'm a 37 year old life-long New Englander. An aquarist by trade.. also a nightclub promoter and graphic design artist. I grew up playing sport, they're still a passion. I enjoy American football, baseball and hockey. I played semi-professional womens baseball in Boston and am now giving golf a try. I have been a licensed PADI scuba diver for 14 years. I'm also an avid urban explorer primarily examining abandoned structures and cemetaries with a scientific approach to either proving or disproving folklore/legends. I'm engaged, I have 1 dog and 2 cats.

What brings you to Death Cafe?

Quite honestly I've been obsessed with my own demise ever since I experienced a nearly lethal nut allergy reaction when I was 11. I'm on borrowed time here, always trying to make better than the best of it and always wanting to meet others who accept the fact that we're all organic.

What would you like your legacy to be?

I have protected myself from every selling out because I have nothing to sell out.

Thoughts for sharing:

I like a lot of movies for quotes and one that always sticks in my mind is from the 1990 film Jacob's Ladder,"The only thing that burns in Hell is the part of you that won't let go of life, your memories, your attachments. They burn them all away. But they're not punishing you, he said. They're freeing your soul. So the way he sees it, if you're frightened of dying and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth. It's just a matter of how you look at it, that's all. So don't worry, okay?"
