About Jan Ryan:

I am a counsellor with several years experience of bereavement work, have also worked with the Samaritans and now am a Life Celebrant. I support Death Cafe simply because I feel it is healthy to acknowledge death, think about it, talk about, and accept it as part of life. Death Cafe, therefore, is a good thing in British society which seems to have an uneasy relationship with mortality.

What brings you to Death Cafe?

Having attended several Death Cafe events now, and so enjoyed the warm atmosphere and the good talk, I wanted to host one myself.
