About Steve Smith:

Dr. Steve is a retired Hospital Chaplain with over twenty years of experience working with folks during all types of struggles during the cycle of life.  Steve believes the use of humor is a valid part of all manners of life, including grief.  He is a former member of the American Academy of Bereavement and the Association of Applied and Theraputic Humor.  He is a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains.


What brings you to Death Cafe?

I like the idea of having a save and relaxed place to discuss this mostly taboo subject.


What would you like your legacy to be?

Steve had FUN!

At the time of a death, it is important to grief but to also remember the good and fun times.  Sacred does not equal somber!
