Last 5th November we celebrated the 13th Death Cafe in Zarautz. 12 people took part in it: 11 women and one man. We talked about the following issues:

Adults are afraid to talk about illness and death to children and they hide these to them. Is it necessary to educate them in these matters and is it even healthy to cry before them?

·In the pass (50 years ago, more or less) there was the custom of going to see dead people in our country.

·Religion gives hope to people. Those who live out of religion don’t have this support.

·Two women had the experience to accompany ...

We met 13 people, 9 women and 4 men. It was the first time for some of them, others repeated the experience. All of them came ready to hear and share their experiences about death.

A man shared with the attendees a near death experience he lived 12 years ago. Nevertheless most of the stories are related with mourning experiences. They invite us to live the present moment with more consciousness and to take an active role in our lives, instead a victim.

They spoke about the importance of not to judge and the necessity of changing the social criticism because it increases the suffering.

They said than ...

12 people took part in December 19th Death Cafe (10 women and 2 men). The following points were addressed:

· The need of a different way t say good bye, beside Church.

· The importance of leaving the death as a process.

· The sensation that death doesn’t exist, that death people are with us and we can feel them, while we remember them.

· The way that previous Death Cafes are helping people to live the last days of their relatives.

· When a relative dies, different rolls in the family change.

· When we lose the parents, we remain orphan.

It was the fifth time we offered the opportunity to join around a coffee to speak about death. 13 people participated in it, only two of them men.

The different points of view about the death were large and rich:

· Children, and their naturalness and innocence, and the overprotective attitude of adults around the death

·  Within the couple

·   The coldness of hospitals

·   The value of a hug

·   The role of Church, the soul, the spirit, the reincarnation, the acceptation

· How long we must support suffering?

· Suffering without sense

· The responsibility to transmit well your ...

In this fourth edition in our city 17 people attended to the invitation. As in previous opportunities, most of them were women (13).

Some different approaches about death appeared:

· No acceptance: incomprehension of death, rejection to loss, “I don’t want to think”, “I don’t want to die”.

· Questions: about great beyond, about how to confront the farewell when there is a fight for remaining, the fear of what is to come.

· Decision about the own death: suicide and freedom.

· Positivity: illness as a learning tool, for opening, for developing the willingness to live thoroughly without so many limitations.

· Hope: near death experiences, the belief that there ...
