About CanTeen QLD:
We at CanTeen work with young people, aged 12-25, living with cancer. Christina and Laura have worked with this demographic for 4 and 6 years respectively and remain passionate about supporting the local West End and greater Brisbane community.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
Death and dying are common themes when living with a life threatening illness and the staff at CanTeen often have open conversations with young people regarding this. Christina and Laura from CanTeen QLD would like to provide a safe and open environment for members of the community to have similar conversations.
What would you like your legacy to be?
We hope to provide a safe and respectful environment for those who want and/or need to talk about death to do so.

We were very pleased with this death cafe session and shared wonderful conversations with a beautiful group of insightful women.
Some great feedback was gathered by the group and included comments such as:
" The Death Cafe experience was open, enlightening and empowering"
" The structure of the discussion had a beautoful organic flow"
"The event affected my feelings about death with me now having less fear and have a more open mind"
When asked what they would tell people who were interested in attending a future Death Cafe the participants said:
"I would recommend it. I would encourage it"
" Make an effort... give it a go"
"Do it!!!"
"Go!!!"
