About Kelly Grimaldi:
I am the historian and preservationist for Albany Diocesan Cemeteries. My office is located in Historic St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY. Founded in 1867, Historic St. Agnes Cemetery is among the most beautiful Catholic cemeteries in the country. It is one of 18 cemeteries managed by Albany Diocesan Cemeteries. It is my mission to promote our cemeteries through the arts and humanities and by engaging members of the community in various activities geared towards fostering creativity, enlightenment, education and spirituality.
What brings you to Death Cafe?
I agree with Death Cafe's mission to bring conversations about death out in the open. Death is not a scary, morbid topic. The more open we are to talking about death and sharing stories, the less afraid we will be when our time comes.
Thoughts for sharing:
I work in a cemetery and see the impact death has on the living every day. It has made me appreciate being on the top side of the grass.
