About this Death Cafe
We are all, for varying reasons and from different backgrounds, supporters of ending the taboo of death and dying in our culture. Being free to talk about and share our own thoughts and experiences, and hear those of others, is a meaningful discussion in its own right.

About Peter Scheer, Celia Sharp, Kyle Tevlin
Peter Scheer is an engineer with a deep interest in end of life issues, and has been a hospice volunteer since 2012 at Grandview hospital in Sellersville, PA. His wife of 37 years passed away in June of 2013. He attended a Death Café in Philadelphia and found it extremely useful in dealing with end of life issues. Peter has a masters degree in mental health from Shippensburg University and is starting a new career as a bereavement counselor.
Celia Sharp is a biologist/chemist from Colombia. She is also a trained medical interpreter and volunteer at Doylestown Hospital and Grand View Hospital Hospice. She has a Master of Bioethics degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and is a member of the Biomedical Ethics Committee at Doylestown Hospital and the American Society for Bioethics and Humanity (ASBH).
Kyle Tevlin is a graphic designer, former hospice volunteer, and creator of I Want a Fun Funeral, a business with a mission for people to pre-plan their own funerals, with an emphasis on creativity and meaningfulness. Talking about death and our possible fears gives us a way to live a bigger and fuller LIFE!
