About this Death Cafe

Being able to discuss death openly in a safe environment is something that is extremely important to both women. Removing the taboo surrounding death and dying is the first step to truely living.

Educating is the 1st step to empowerment. 

We have open flow discussions, led by the attendees. 

About Lorraine Phalen-Cross & Cindy Birdwell Awad

Lorraine is a certified Death Doula & is currently in school to obtain her Associates degree in Mortuary Science. 

Cindy is a long time educator, currently enriching the lives of 1st graders in Knoxville. 

Both ladies have hosted Death Cafe's seperately in the past, but have now joined forces to enrich the lives of the people in their community.
