About Kayla Moryoussef & Home Hospice Association

Home Hospice Association (HHA) aims to help communities develop resources to care for their dying in non-institutional environments. Much of the agency’s work also focuses on helping all members of any community die a ‘good death,’ however that may be defined. HHA's organizational values of choice, knowledge, community, collaboration, and empowerment at – and before – end of life lies directly in-line with the values of the Death Café movement.

Kayla Moryoussef is in her final year of studies in the Community Worker program at George Brown College in Toronto. Kayla began volunteering with Hospice Toronto in 2012 as an in-home palliative care team member, offering respite to family caregivers. In 2017 she began working, under various hats, with Home Hospice Association - where she learned of the Death Café movement, and was hooked. Kayla Is is infinitely passionate about proliferating the dialogue around death and dying, and liberating and empowering people towards 'good deaths' and the importance of this to the prolonged health & happiness of all individuals, families, and communities.
