About this Death Cafe

A Death Cafe is an event where people drink tea, eat cake and discuss death. Join us for a FREE cup of tea, slice of cake and a chat about life, death, and what really matters to you in an intimate and confidential setting.

The Death Cafe movement is spreading across the globe and aims to encourage people to talk about death and to make the most of their lives.

The Colchester Death Cafe is being held at The Oak Tree Coffee House which is next to Tesco Highwoods.

The Death Cafe is not a bereavement / grief support resource.

About Lee Jaschok

Lee heads up Freedom Funerals in Colchester which he founded on a deep-routed desire to help people during difficult times; aiming to deliver support, choice and value.

“We believe in the freedom to choose and that choice is as important in death as it is in life.  Death has traditionally been a taboo subject but we are known for our non-traditional approach and firmly believe that talking about death is a positive thing; not only helping us to cope with loss of a loved one, but it also encourages us to consider how to make the most of our lives.

Sharing stories and listening to others can inspire you to makes changes that bring a renewed zest for life, which can often diminish after a bereavement. I’d encourage anyone to come along for an evening of tea, cake and inspiring conversation that could change your outlook on life and death”.
