About this Death Cafe
Continuing the global conversation of deathcafe.org, Host Cafe opens its doors after hours to one of the most universal events and topics on the planet: death. With the relaxed candour of any cafe, we welcome you to join us for an evening of Tea, Coffee, Cake, and Death.
However, this event is NOT intended for counseling any grief or pain from any recent loss, and we ask you come with this in mind. Yet, Death is a difficult subject to broach, which is exactly why we want to talk about it. So join us, please. share a story, share a thought, or sip your tea and listen.
Host Café is located inside St. Mary Aldermary chuch and will be open, selling teas, direct-trade coffees, and snacks.
Naturally, this topic can evoke strong emotion. This is normal, human even, as emotions come and go. If you feel you need or want support, please contact us personally at info@moot.uk.net.
If your need for support is immediate, please contact the Samaritans, or any one of this list: here
About Host Cafe
Host is an enterprise of Moot, a community of spiritual pilgrims stumbling and fumbling our way towards salvation. Our home at St Mary Aldermary is a peaceful sanctuary amidst the noisy, bustling streets of London. We built the café because we want people to feel comfortable and at home in the beautiful and relaxing space that the church offers, as we seek to restore the church building to its true vocation as a welcoming hub for the local community, a public space where friendships and connections can be developed. Since we started running the café in September we have experienced the increase in the life and warmth that people bring to a building.
