About this Death Cafe
Niagara Death Cafe is hosted and facilitated by Merri-Lee Agar. Part of her calling as a Death Doula is to create awareness of our mortality and create a safe space to talk about death. It truly is amazing how many people actually DO want to talk about it, and a Death Cafe is the perfect place to do so.
As it was her mother's death that inspired Merri-Lee to become a Death Doula, she always serves her mothers butter tarts, alongside other goodies, tea and coffee.
The space is generously donated by Mark Richardson, Manager of Cemeteries for the City of Niagara Falls and Director for the Green Burial Society of Canada.
About Merri-Lee Agar
Merri-Lee is a Death Doula, Reiki Master and Bereavement Specialist. She found herself pursuing a career in dying, death and grief after she companioned her own mother on her dying journey in 2010. Merri-Lee has a home based holistic practice but divides her time between that her hospice work. Merri-Lee serves clients all over the Niagara Region and the GTA.
