About this Death Cafe

As part of Death Awareness Week, 8th to 14th May, Bluebird Care are attempting to debunk some of the myths surrounding death.  Embarking on a training programme for all staff who were interested in palliative and end of life care, this led us on a journey and we became involved with some research being conducted by Scottish Care which resulted in their Trees that Bend in the Wind publication.  Our staff spoke on the John Beattie show on Radio Scotland and this really got the conversation going!  We wanted to open this up to everyone in our local area to get that sense of community going again.  As part of the Good Life, Good Death, Good Grief organisation, we want to open up this taboo topic encouraging the people of Edinburgh to be more open about death, dying and bereavement.
