About this Death Cafe
After holding Death Cafes for 4 years, we are answering the communities request for in-depth presentations. We hold that before the actual CFD Death Cafe. This month, Deborah Golden Alecson, thanatologist, educator, and author will present Grief Around the Holidays: Missing the Ones We Love
Her book of poems, Complicated Grief, alchemizes unspeakable pain and brings to light the ambivalent feelings and sneak attacks of memories we crave to bury. No reservation, no charge, although donations are always welcomed.
About Circle of Friends for the Dying
Circle of Friends for the Dying (CFD) is a 501c3 non-profit whose mission is to bring compassionate, competent end-of-life care to the dying and their families
by providing a home and a circle of support. This is our fourth year of providing education and awareness through monthly CFD Death Cafes in neighborhood locations. CFD Death Café is a gathering of people, often strangers, where we
eat cake, drink tea or coffee, and confidentially, safely have conversations that
break the taboo of talking about dying and death. People leave the gatherings feeling “informed,” “connected,” “fulfilled,” “thankful,” and “uplifted.”
