About this Death Cafe:

 

This beautiful studio space was offered to us for a Death Cafe by the photographer Juliane Spaete.

 

We provide gluten and dairy free refreshments and teas and ask for a donation of £5 to cover expenses.

About the hosts:

 

Josefine Speyer is a UKCP registered psychotherapist based in London with a special interest in death education. Co-founder of the Natural Death Centre charity www.naturaldeath.org.uk  of which she is now a patron, and the Befriending Network charity (1994), now named OxBeL www.oxbel.org.uk

and part of Age UK.

 

She has hosted Death Cafes since 2012, at her home in NW London, Oxford, Lewes and the very popular monthly Death Cafe Hampstead at Cafe Rouge in Hampstead. Since January 2016 she hosts Death Cafe West Hampstead at La Brioche every second Monday of the month.

 

For over twenty years Josefine has held death education workshops, courses, death discussion groups and talks as part of the NDC's educational program and privately. In September 2016 the Natural Death Centre received the Life Time Achievements Award.

 

Philomena Corrigan is a retired nurse and a trained End-of-Life Doula. She co-hosts Death Cafe Finsbury Park and has been a regular facilitator at the monthly Death Cafe Hampstead and Death Cafe West Hampstead.
