About this Death Cafe
Lisa Fairman and Peter Scheer will co-facilitate Death Cafe. Special thanks to Linda, owner of Geneva Bakery Cafe, for opening the Cafe for us on her day off!
About Lisa Faiman and Peter Scheer
Lisa Fairman is the owner of Earth Rhythms LLC a service and retail business specializing in interactive rhythm programs, global percussion and gifts for body, mind and spirit. Lisa is a musician, registered corporate coach and a former regional human resources manager. Her human resources leadership role provided many opportunities to facilitate group discussions whether for leadership development, job training or conflict resolution. In 2015, Lisa embarked upon the profoundly transforming journey of caring for her father for six months before his death. Giving back is important to her and she began by providing a drum circle for Hospice workers. When hearing of Death Cafe, she realized co-facilitating a meeting in her hometown was the next step in giving back.
Peter Scheer is a percussionist and trained facilitator in HealthRhythms; both individual and adolescent protocols. Peter has an ongoing interest in end of life issues and is a former hospice volunteer and a member of the Association of Death Education and Counselling. After over 30 years in various roles in the business and engineering field, Peter is now completing studies in clinical mental health counseling and entering a new career focused on helping people gain emotional well-being. After attending his first Death café meeting, Peter became an active advocate for the Death Café movement and hosting one a year later.
