About this Death Cafe
The meeting takes place at dinner time from 6:00PM to 8:00PM and requires an RSVP to deathcafeclt@gmail.com by 12PM the Thursday before 1st Friday. You can purchase a meal ticket for $15.00 at the front desk upon arrival at Stony Point Center. This is for and all you can eat buffet.
About Community of Living Traditions @ Stony Point Conference Center
Community of Living Traditions (CLT) is an intentional community of Jews, Muslims and Christians. Our mission is community engagement through radical hospitality, addressing social justice concerns, and now discussion of death as an aspect of nature and a social inquiry. CLT decided to start a Death Cafe because we'd discovered that Death discussion is important within our community. We have elders; we've been to social justice events where unjustifiable death has taken place; some members had lost family members to nature and to hatred… We felt that engaging the natural-ness of death would give us healing opportunities to lose the fear of it and reclaim the true essence of humanity. Given our mission, decided to open to the community.
