About this Death Cafe

My intention in running this event is simply to provide an opportunity for people to share their thoughts, feelings and eperiences around death and dying, It's such an important part of life, yet is a topic so often avoided. Still, considering that we rarely discuss it, once it is released from it's shackles of taboo and morbidity, it elicits a great many wonderful and inspirational stories, as well as profound insights into not just death, but Life itself. Great stuff - Viva la Death Cafe !

This is the second Death discussion gathering to be held in our little town. The one in August was more of an information sharing occasion as part of the Dying To Know Day annual event aimed at educating people about their choices and options around death and dying. The discussion however soon veered into personal recounts - all of which were amazing, touching and incredibly heart-warming. Holding a Death Cafe seemed to be a natural followup and continuation of the talkfest begun last month.

A big thank you to Jo for again offering her magical little Cafe as a venue.
